Health Benefits

Time to top up with tea!

  • Tea has potential health maintenance benefits in cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention.
  • Tea is a natural source of fluoride that can help protect against tooth decay and gum disease
  • Tea contains half the amount of caffeine found in coffee (some teas none at all).
  • The number of recommended cups of tea to drink each day is 4, this gives you optimal benefit.

Here's a bit more detail...

Health benefits of drinking tea for your immune system:
If you want to transform your immune system to better fight off colds and flu MORE EFFICIENTLY, drinking tea can be a powerful and easy way to accomplish your goal. Studies from Harvard University showed that those who drink 5 cups of black tea a day for 2 weeks transformed their T cells into super cells that produced 10 times more cold fighting interferon than those who did not consume black tea. Green tea was also just as effective. Other germs were also defeated in this study including infected cuts, food poisoning, and diseases like malaria. Even drinking less than 5 cups a day provides some valuable benefits. So, drink a cup or two of green or black tea a day for benefits that are well worth the time to brew a cuppa.

Drinking green teas could help diabetes prevention and it also boosts one's system. Green teas are used for many other healthy remedies all over the world today such as stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea, and bowel irregularity, lowering levels of cholesterol, with prevention of tooth decay and mainly as a type of antioxidant. This tea may also have positive anti-inflammatory effects as well. Why not try our Chun mee green tea?

And for all you dieters...

You burn 17 percent more fat during exercising if you drink green tea beforehand. This is according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Yet another excuse to drink more green tea!

Herbal teas have also been known to be great relievers of stress and fatigue. Drinking a warm cup gives one a sense of calm and relaxation where all your troubles and cares seem to just melt away. We'd recommend our camomile or peppermint, mmmm.

And finally...

You may be surprised to learn that up to a massive 70% of our body is made up of water, that is why fluid is essential for life. It's important therefore to replace fluids that are lost through day to day activities, and why doctors recommend that we drink at least 2.5 pints/1.5 litres of fluid per day to prevent dehydration. Tea, which on average accounts for 40% of our daily fluid intake in Britain, can help you reach the daily target.

We could go on and fill several pages but we thought this was a nice bite-sized snippet of info to digest - all we can say is 'we'll drink to that!'
