Green tea is a superfood Did you know that green tea is a superfood? At least according to the Center of Disease Prevention and Reversal and other superfood lists I have seen. Superfoods are packed with nutrients. They can help lower your cholesterol, reduce your cancer risk, strengthen your immune system and more. Without the side effects that drugs have. Green tea is already part of your daily diet (We hope!) Drink green tea before exercising and burn more fat You burn 17 percent more fat during exercising if you drink green tea beforehand. This is according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. This gives you yet another excuse to drink more green tea. Green teas are used for many other healthy remedies all over the world today such as stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, and irregularity, lowering levels of cholesterol, prevention of cavities and mainly as a type of antioxidant.
Tea tastes better when fresh water is used (more oxygen remains in the water), rather than water which has been allowed to sit in the kettle and reboiled. Let your ‘chun mee’ tea infuse for 3-5 mins from water that has boiled then cooled a little to around 70-80 degrees (If you stick to this time frame and temerature you will fully extract the anti-oxidants but avoid the bitterness - yuk!). If you have sweet tooth why not add a spoonful of honey. Brewed correctly it will have a mild, flavourful taste.
