Tea Details

  • Origin The Uva Highlands of Sri Lanka, garden name: Thotulagalla Tea Estate.
  • Process Oolong (taken from the Chinese words ‘black dragon’ referring to the fact that the tea is neither black nor green but somewhere in between) teas undergo a partial oxidation before being rolled and twisted. This means that the enzymes in the freshly picked leaf are exposed to oxygen for a period of time before the tea is fired to halt the process. These semi-fermented teas are famed for producing beautifully complex but delicate flavours.
  • Health Benefits Drinking brewed tea and herbal infusions contribute to your daily recommended requirement of 2 litres of water and are virtually calorie-free.
  • Available in 25g Handcrafted tin.

Description

Thotalugalla Estate is a beautiful organic tea garden situated high up in the Uva Highlnads of Sri Lanka. Black and green teas are the main products produced here but occasionally tiny batches of oolong teas are also prepared. We secured the latest 1 KG batch and here it is. Enjoy this extremely rare tea’s gentle flavours with nuances of peach, hay-meadows and honeysuckle.
